Local Caboolture Couple Take Anti Domestic Violence Campaign to Next Level

Caboolture: Say NO to Domestic Violence!

Scott Lachmund and Jacqueline TakaLocal Caboolture couple, Scott Lachmund and Jacqueline Taka, have been a formidable force in the war on domestic violence.

Scott Lachmund, a Director of R&W Real Estate Caboolture, has used all the resources available to him to raise public awareness about domestic violence, an epidemic that has been killing one Australian woman every week and permanently damaging many more.

This campaign included participating in the Australia’s CEO Challenge Workplace Partners Against Domestic Violence. As a competitor for 2013, Mr Lachmund was recognised as the winner of the Challenger Award – Rivalry for the award included representation from multi-national companies such as Cisco.

Now, George Theo, CEO of Unitywater, has taken the batten from Mr Lachmund for the 2014 challenge. However, Mr Lachmund continues to be heavily engaged in campaigning against domestic violence and participating in events to raise awareness.

Meanwhile, Jacqueline Taka, who is a coordinator at a Women’s Shelter for Domestic Violence, has organised numerous events, commissioned a video showing what a DV shelter looks like so women escaping domestic violence know what to expect and, more recently, appeared on 612 ABC Radio to raise awareness.

This month is Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month. Non-physical forms of domestic and family violence such as controlling behaviour, stalking, threats and verbal abuse can cause serious damage, and can quickly turn into physical abuse.

Make the call is a Queensland-wide campaign incorporating advertising, social media, posters and help cards distributed through community services and campaign partners. The campaign supports local community awareness raising activities during Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month in May.
