Moreton Bay Regional Councillor for Division Two, Peter Flannery, has announced the construction completion of part of the Beachmere waterfront that includes a substantial walkway structure onto the beach.
This enhancement, with future stages in planning for the area, gives the locals and visitors easier access from a nearby parkland onto the beach. The project also included major drainage works and other structural improvements to the area.
Cr Flannery also announced that the Burpengary Sports Park AFL precinct is about to host its first games on its new fields. While Cr Flannery said he wouldn’t be running onto the field for a game, the precinct is fantastic for the area.
“Saturday the 8th of March is the first time it is going to be played on,” Cr Flannery said in a video interview with 4510TV. “The local Caboolture Lions are playing against the Redcliffe Tigers in a Councillor Cup, and after that game is the Brisbane Lions playing the Sydney Swans.”
Division two of the Moreton Bay Regional Council takes in Beachmere, Deception Bay, Burpengary and part of Caboolture, Morayfield and Narangba. To contact Cr Flannery, visit http://www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au/general.aspx?id=103921.
