Fighting Breast Cancer
A Caboolture mother of a young family, Audrey Buckingham, was in shock after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013.
Watch the video above to see her story and what Mrs Buckingham is doing to help other women that find themselves facing the same challenges she has.
I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the end of last year (2013). I have since battled through a couple of operations and chemotherapy for the last 6 months, and I am currently going through radiation treatment. I have also lost both my parents to cancer over the last 7 years so I feel very strongly about finding a cure for this deadly disease! I have set myself a huge goal for this year, it will give me something to strive towards whilst keeping me physically fit and mentally in a positive spirit.
On 25-26 October, 2014, I’ll be participating in a very special event called The Weekend to End Women’s Cancers™ benefiting the QIMR Berghofer and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH).
I’ll walk approximately 60 kilometres in two days with thousands of other women and men. The proceeds will support breast and gynecological cancers research, treatment, and services.
I’ve committed to raising at least $2,000, but I’ve set my personal goal at $2,500.00. So I need your help.
I am organising an exclusive “High Tea” event (27th July 2014), as well as a Movie event and Trivia Night, with the help of some dedicated friends. This event will highlight the generosity of our local business and will be attended by many locals from our community. What better way to have your business acknowledged at a community event raising funds for cancer research, treatment and services. We all know someone who has been affected by this disease.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Please help me either by:-
• Making a donation. (Use the link at the bottom of this email to visit my site and make an online donation to support me);
• Supplying items that can be raffled/auctioned at my “High Tea”, Trivia Night or “Movie” event.
• Buying tickets and attending one of my fundraising events.
Your generosity will be acknowledged at all fundraising events.
Please keep in mind how far I’m walking – and how hard I’ll have to train.
I’m walking so far to do something bold about all women’s cancers. I hope that you’ll share this incredible adventure with me – by supporting me in my fundraising efforts.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
