Don’t miss the last ever Caboolture Mayor’s Chaplaincy Breakfast!

Caboolture Chaplains: Future DirectionAfter 14 years of the Caboolture Mayor’s Chaplaincy Breakfast, this one is set to be the last. Initially the fundraiser event supported just six chaplains in the local region, now there are 26 chaplains in the area providing a support network to students in schools.

This breakfast event is one not to be missed, with the first ever Caboolture chaplain, Bruce Green attending. It is also an opportunity to find out what the future is expected to hold for the chaplaincy program in this region.

Scripture Union Queensland is the provider of the school chaplains in the Caboolture region, they also run camps, community outreach events and At-Risk Youth programs, and offer nationally recognised training programs in youth work at both Certificate IV and Diploma levels.

The Moreton Bay Regional Council website says:

Did you know there are over 70 Chaplains located in state primary and secondary schools in the Moreton Bay Region? Chaplains play important roles in positively guiding the lives of our youth, benefiting our community as a whole.

Chaplains offer an additional adult role model and are inclusive of and show respect for all religious and non-religious beliefs. All activities and events provided within a chaplaincy program are non-discriminatory and equitably available to all students. Chaplains provide guidance and support to school children to ensure they leave school with the best possible chance of enjoying happy, fulfilling and worthwhile lives.

Each year, Moreton Bay Regional Council partners with Scripture Union Queensland to host three charity events, raising much needed funds for school chaplaincy programs in the Moreton Bay region. In 2013 these events raised in excess of $48,000. through ticket sales, raffles and auctions. Without the generous support from local businesses and the Moreton Bay community, this amount could never have been achieved.

By supporting these events, guests are provided with an opportunity to network with the community, enjoy good food and hear an inspirational speaker. All proceeds raised are donated directly to this valuable program within our community.
