Bootcamp Bribie won the epic Picture Perfect Aerial Installations Tug of War, raising money and awareness for the Leukaemia Foundation, Queensland, Caboolture Branch (LFQCAB). On top of the win, Bootcamp Bribie donated the $500 prize money back to the LFQCAB.
The tug-of-war competition was made up of teams of five, playing all other teams in a round-robin format. Even a kids’ team had a go at the end of the competition.
Both community groups and businesses made up the teams in the tug-of-war competition.
Those organisations were Commerce Caboolture, Jetts Fitness, DKM Plumbing, the Wam Bammers, Onward Fitness (who also provided the judge), the Tuggernauts, the Caboolture State Emergency Service and Bootcamp Bribie.
And to make the whole thing possible, the sponsors included Picture Perfect Aerial Installations, Onward Fitness and 4510TV.com.
This event is part of a series of events put together by a group known as Leukey’s Angels. Leukey’s Angels are made up of four women – Jane McMillan (the LFQCAB President), Vicki Wood, Naomi Hockins and Donna Robinson.
Leukey’s Angels have all committed to shaving their heads if they are successful in raising $50,000 for the World’s Greatest Shave, an annual event where family, friends, businesses and individuals come together to raise money and support people with blood cancers.
The next Leukey’s Angel’s event is a Fun Run/Walk at Centenary Lakes, Caboolture.
Entrants can choose a two or five kilometre course, which will be held Sunday 23 Feburary.
